Demand to investigate Armenian civilian’s death conveyed to Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - To boost international legal cooperation, the Office of Armenian Prosecutor General works closely with the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS member states, Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan said at a meeting with the Coordinating Council’s Executive Secretary Leoind Yermolayev in Astana.

Kostanyan underlined the importance of the Coordinating Council in combating international crime. He expressed confidence that efficient legal cooperation in that format will continue to develop and strengthen based on common goals, Panorama.am reports citing the press service of the Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office.

In the absence of any legal platforms for contacts with Azerbaijan and, as a result, existence of numerous problems in need of solutions, Armenian prosecutor general and Yermolayev discussed the opportunity of dealing with them through the Coordinating Council.

Prosecutor General Kostanyan handed Yermolayev the investigative requirement to the Office of Azerbaijani Prosecutor General in connection with the investigation into the death of Armenian citizen Karen Petrosyan, conducted by Armenian law enforcement bodies. Kostanyan asked Yermolayev to convey the requirement to the authorized body of Azerbaijan.
