HEYDAR ALIYEV CONFIRMED HIS INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN OCTOBER 2003November 27, 2002 - 23:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri President Heydar Aliyev has confirmed his readiness to participate in the presidential elections in the country planned in October 2003. As reported by RIA "Novosti" agency, the President made a statement concerning it when addressing the jubilee congress of the ruling "New Azerbaijan" party. Heydar Aliyev expressed confidence that the people would vote for him. In their turn the delegates addressing the congress attributed the stability established in the country to the President's son, first deputy chairman of "New Azerbaijan" party Ilham Aliyev, also considering him as "the political heir of Heydar Aliyev."![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
