Patrick Dempsey joins Renee Zellweger in 3rd

PanARMENIAN.Net - Patrick Dempsey is joining the third "Bridget Jones" movie. The former "Grey's Anatomy" actor is in final negotiations to star in "Bridget Jones's Baby" which will see Renee Zellweger returning as the titular character and Colin Firth as her love interest Mark Darcy, AceShowbiz reports.

The plot is still scarce, but Bridget Jones is expected to have a baby like the title is suggesting. Rumor has it, it's based on columns written by Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding and not adapted from her latest novel, "Mad About The Boy", in which Firth's character has died.

According to Deadline, Sharon Maguire, who helmed the first film "Bridget Jones's Diary" in 2001, will also be back at the helm. It's unclear what role Dempsey is going to play but his casting comes after Hugh Grant, who played Jones' other suitor Daniel Cleaver in the first two films, left the project last year.
