Sam Smith unveils new Bond theme “Writings on the Wall”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sam Smith has finally delivered on his Bond theme for the latest 007 installment Spectre, dropping the track on September 25, Gigwise reports.

The singer-songwriter's vocals are, expectantly, on point, veering from falsetto to baritone effortlessly backed by a lush and cinematic orchestral accompaniment, it's everything you'd expect a Sam Smith theme to sound like.

The song was co-written by Smith and frequent Smith, Disclosure and Clean Bandit collaborator Jimmy Napes. "This is one of the highlights of my career", Smith said, which, considering he's only been on the radar a couple of years, is a bit of an understatement.

"I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations."

The singer humbly concluded: "I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it."

Spectre is due out Monday 26 September. While rumours circulated about Muse, Ellie Goulding and Adele potentially being the musicians behind the theme, Sam Smith revealed it was in fact him only a few weeks ago.
