120 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan reported overnightSeptember 28, 2015 - 11:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani armed forces continuously violated the ceasefire at the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh on the night of September 27-28. According to the NKR defense army, 120 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces were registered, with around 900 shots fired from various caliber weapons, including 60-, 82-, 120-mm mortars and RPG-7, HAN-17 grenade launchers. Azerbaijani troops have also used Turkish-made TR-107 rocket launchers. Karabakh defense forces took retaliatory measures and continue controlling the situation. The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan broke out as result of the ethnic cleansing launched by the Azeri authorities in the final years of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army.
