800 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani troops registered on Oct. 4-10October 10, 2015 - 14:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani armed forces continuously violated the ceasefire at the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh on October 4-10. According to the NKR Defense Army, 800 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces were registered, with around 10.000 shots fired from various caliber weapons, including 60- and 82-mm mortars, HAN-17 grenade launchers. Besides, Azeri armed units carried out air force training flights on October 7, 50 km away from the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh. The NKR Defense Army units continue controlling the situation, taking retaliatory measures in case of necessity. An Azerbaijani subversive group took an unsuccessful attempt to cross the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh armed forces on Saturday, October 10, at 3:05 am local time. NKR Defense Army units identified the Azerbaijani group on time, took retaliatory measures and threw the rivals back to their positions. No casualties were registered on the Armenian side. The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan broke out as result of the ethnic cleansing launched by the Azeri authorities in the final years of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army.
