Max, described as a 1960s-set comedy about a magazine writer who accidentally stumbles into the women's movement during second-wave feminism, will star actress Lisa Joyce as the titular Maxine. The Hollywood Reporter also has confirmed that Dunham will direct the pilot. Girls writer-producer Murray Miller is penning the script, and fellow Girls team members Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress are also on board to executive produce.
