Phil Collins releasing "warts and all" autobiography next year

Phil Collins releasing

PanARMENIAN.Net - Phil Collins has announced plans to release his "warts and all" autobiography next year - and it's being described (somewhat hyperbolically) as "one of the last great untold stories."

Despite being in the public eye for over 40 years, the former Genesis drummer and bona fide solo star has never released a book. Now, he's decided, is the time to do so, Gigwise reports.

"Several times over the last few years," said Collins in a statement, "I have been asked to write a biography but never felt that the time was right - until now. Having found the right publisher in Penguin Random House I am ready to go on record about my life in music with all the highs and all the lows and to tell the story from my point of view, warts and all!"

Ben Dunn, the Century Publishing Director, has decribed the book as "one of the last great untold stories," and "something we've all been desperate to read. The early material is simply breathtaking, and I am honoured to be his publisher."

Collins' currently untitled autobiography is set for release in hardback and as an ebook in October 2016.
