Drop in Sevan’s water level due to evaporation: Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Ministry of Nature Protection explained the reasons behind the decrease in water level of Lake Sevan. According to the Ministry’s Agency for Water Resources Management, the water level of Sevan stood at 1900.34 m. on September 1.

Water abstraction from Lake Sevan for irrigation continued until September 12, when the water level amounted to 1900.3 m.

“Decrease in the lake’s water level for another 6 cm is due to evaporation. The water level of Lake Sevan was 1900.24 m on October 21, 2015, up 7 cm from last year’s figure,” the Ministry says.
