Iran Foreign Minister to participate in Syria talks in Vienna: media

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his deputies will attend Syria peace talks in Vienna on Friday, October 30, the semi- official ISNA news agency reports, according to Reuters.

"Deputy Foreign Ministers Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi will accompany Zarif on this trip," foreign ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham was quoted as saying by ISNA.

Iran was invited to international talks aimed at ending the Syrian civil war for the first time - just after Iranian state-controlled media reported Russian warplanes had bombed enemy positions near the Israeli-annexed Syrian territory of the Golan Heights, the Independent reports.
