Foreign Minister, EU rep. discuss EU-Armenia cooperation perspectives![]() November 5, 2015 - 14:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Wednesday, November 4, with Gunnar Wiegand, EU's European External Action Service (EEAS) Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and the OSCE. According to the Foreign Ministry’s press office, Nalbandian stressed the importance of the mandate, enabling the European Commission to renew negotiations on the formation of a new legal framework of EU-Armenia ties. Also, Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to further develop and strengthen comprehensive cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. Both sides expressed hope that the negotiations over a new legal document on Armenia-EU cooperation would launch by year-end. At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on the situation in the Sough Caucasus region and vital issues on the international agenda. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
