Iran May Stop Exporting Energy in 20 Years?November 24, 2006 - 15:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran may quit exporting energy in some 20 years, Deputy Foreign Minister for Coordination and Economic Affairs Alireza Sheikh-Attar stated when addressing the World Economic Conference in Istanbul. "Actually consumption of energy in Iran grows," he said. Among the tasks to be fulfilled first of all he marked out use of alternative energy sources. "If we fail to find a solution within the next 15-20 years Iran will stop exporting energy," he added, reports RosBusinessConsulting. Tehran motivates the increase of energy consumption with the need of the nuclear program. "We are planning to build 20 nuclear power plants," said the Deputy FM and once again assured the conference participants in peacefulness of the nuclear program.
