"Spotlight" defeated "Carol", "The Diary of a Teenage Girl", "Heaven Knows What" and "Tangerine" in Best Feature category. The movie also won Best Screenplay for scribes Tom McCarthy and Josh Singer. A special Gotham Jury Award was given to cast members Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, John Slattery, Stanley Tucci, Brian d'Arcy James, Liev Schreiber and Billy Crudup. Transgender movie "Tangerine" nabbed the Audience Award and a Breakthrough Actor honor for actress Mya Taylor. In the category, Taylor competed with co-star Kitana Kiki Rodriguez and three other actresses including Rory Culkin ("Gabriel"), Arielle Holmes ("Heaven Knows What") and Lola Kirke ("Mistress America"). In TV categories, USA Network's critically acclaimed "Mr. Robot" won Breakthrough Series - Long Form, while Breakthrough Series - Short Form went to British comedic short series "Shugs & Fats".
