Karabakh conflict can’t be solved with self-defense alone: military official![]() December 10, 2015 - 12:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Major General, hero of the Artsakh Liberation Struggle Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan believes that the Armenian side should not wait for Azerbaijan’s provocations to defend itself, Tert.am reports. “The Defense Ministry’s moves differ greatly from our previous path,” Ter-Tadevosyan said. “Formerly we waited for the attacks to start the self-defense, now we take preventive steps.” He noted that as a serviceman he hails the Armenian side’s moves, but understands as a civilian that the Azerbaijani provocations claim innocent lives. “We, of course, retaliate and never initiate attacks, but the problem can’t be solved with self-defense alone. They have started using tanks. With a small country like Armenia we can’t allow casualties at all,” Ter-Tadevosyan stressed. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
