280 ceasefire violations by Azeri troops registered over weekend![]() December 14, 2015 - 13:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani armed forces continuously violated the ceasefire on the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh on December 12-13. According to the Karabakh Defense Ministry, 280 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces were registered in the reporting period, with over 3000 shots fired from various caliber artillery weapons, 60-, 82-, and 120-mm mortars, AGS-17 and RPG-7 grenade launchers. Karabakh troops control the situation and retaliate in case of necessity. Karabakh army soldier Karen Grigoryan, aged 20, was lethally wounded by the rival’s sniper shot on December 11, at around 8:40 pm. According to the Karabakh Defense Ministry, 130 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces were registered December 10-11, with over 1100 shots fired from various caliber artillery weapons, 60-, 82-, 120-mm mortars, as well as ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon. A Nagorno Karabakh army soldier Vardan Vardanyan, aged 21, was lethally wounded in Azerbaijani ceasefire violation on December 11, at around 8:50 am. Baku used a tank for the first time to shell Karabakh positions amid ongoing border tensions. On December 8, at around 9:10 pm, another Karabakh soldier, Gagik Avanesyan (aged 24) was lethally wounded by the rival's large-caliber sniper rifle. An investigation into the details of the incidents is underway.
