Roads to Armenia's major tourist destinations to be repaired![]() December 17, 2015 - 14:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The roads to Garni and Lake Parz, two of Armenia's major tourist destinations will be repaired in 2016, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication said, according to Panorama.am. In response to a remark on a subpar condition of roads, Artur Arakelyan said that the one to Garni passes through a landslide zone. “After consulting with specialists, we have found a complex solution that won’t cost much. Also, we are planning some investments in Lake Parz as a tourist destination,” Arakelyan noted. The Temple of Garni is a classical Hellenistic temple in the village of the same name Armenia. It is the only Greco-Roman colonnaded building or temple in Armenia and the former Soviet Union. The temple is one the most visited tourist destinations in the country, with Geghard Monastery situated nearby. Lake Parz is a small lake located in the Dilijan National Park east of Dilijan, not far from Goshavank and Haghartsin monasteries. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
