Constitutional Referendum in NKR Will Not Hamper Negotiation ProcessDecember 19, 2006 - 14:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia understands the reaction of international organizations on the referendum of the NKR Constitution, but does not agree with those assertions that it will hamper the negotiation process, said FA minister Vartan Oskanian in Yerevan. He thinks that the international organizations should abstain from such an interpretation of the referendum. "Of course, we are surprised by their stance, but it is up to them. It seems that many international organizations want to review their statements on the Constitutional referendum in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic," underlined Oskanian. He also stressed that strong and legal arguments of the NKR existence will assist the negotiation process. "In this case we will reach an agreement easier. I must add that the current statements on Nagorno Karabakh are distinguished from the previous ones with their softer interpretation," said the Foreign Minister of Armenia. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
