Rihanna’s “Anti” gets Tidal 1 million trial subscriptions in half a dayJanuary 29, 2016 - 17:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tidal hasn't had it easy since its launch, but it's certainly celebrating this week after Rihanna's new album Anti handed it 1 million trial subscriptions in a matter of hours, Digital Spy reports. The Jay Z-owned steaming service exclusively released the singer's much-anticipated record in a promotion with Samsung last night (January 28). 1 million free download codes were given away to fans on a first-come, first-serve basis. The codes, which were all gone by Thursday afternoon, came with a 60-day free trial to Tidal. Anti is still available to stream on Tidal, or fans can buy it for $11.99. It was streamed over 13 million times during the first 14 hours, the company has confirmed. However, those without Tidal subscriptions should not fear. The album is coming to the likes of Apple Music and Spotify next week. Tidal had a tough start to life after launching in October 2014, with billing gaffes, elitism accusations and the loss of its second CEO just some of its problems.
