Casting is firming up for “Tribes Of Palos Verdes” YA novel adaptationFebruary 1, 2016 - 16:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Casting is firming up at The Firm for The Tribes Of Palos Verdes, the coming-of-age drama based on Joy Nicholson’s debut YA novel that is being toplined by Jennifer Garner. The deals mean that shooting is set to start right away, Deadline reports. Set in the affluent Los Angeles suburb of Palos Verdes, the script by Karen Coner (Admission) centers on two teenagers who move to the beach community with their parents as their mother teeters on the brink of a nervous breakdown and their father becomes a surgeon to the stars. Garner plays the mom and Stephen Moyer has now been cast as the dad. Maika Monroe plays the daughter, Medina, who turns to surfing as an escape, and Cody Fern (War Horse) is set to play her brother Jim. Elisabeth Rohm, Goran Visnjic, Milo Gibson, Noah Silver, Joely Fisher and Stevie Lynn Jones are also aboard. Emmett and Brendan Malloy are directing Karen Coner’s script for the pic, which was the first pickup for The Firm after bringing over Robbie Brenner from Relativity to run the film operations. Brenner and Croner are producing, with The Firm’s Jeff Kwatinetz and Kevin McKeon executive producing.
