Russia Should Apologize for So-Called Khojalu Genocide, Baku Says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia should apologize to Azerbaijan for the so-called 'Khojalu genocide', Milli Majlis member Zahid Oruj said during a round table discussion. He said the 'Khojalu genocide' should be viewed as a part of the Nagorno Karabakh problem. In his opinion, legal and political assessment of the commitment of the 'genocide' can hardly be achieved unless the international community takes a fair position on the issue. "The United States begged pardon of the Iraqi people for inhuman deeds. Russia for her part should apologize to the Azeri people for the genocide perpetrated in Khojalu at the hands of the 336th Soviet regiment. Two peoples rose against each other as result of efforts of the Russian intelligence groups in Nagorno Karabakh," the deputy said, reports Trend news agency.
