More families celebrate housewarming due to Vivacell-MTS projectFebruary 27, 2016 - 17:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Housing problems of 11 families have been solved in 3 border villages of Armenia's Tavush province thanks to the VivaCell-MTS-financed project, with renovation and construction of half-built houses completed. VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited the village of Aygepar to share the joy of the new homeowners. Months ago the heads of the partnering organizations visited the Grigoryans to see their new house, which needed renovation. For six years, the young family lived with the husband's parents, later renting an apartment. Absence of own home never allowed the family to even think of having the second child. “Every time we reevaluate the housing program I become more convinced that the mission we carry out along with our partner organization is equally important and successful,” Yirikian said. “The housing problem has been solved, our job is done, but the real success is still ahead: the family will continue living here, the housing problem no longer keeping them from having more children.” “We started the project in the border communities of Tavush in 2014; as a result, 16 families have completed the construction of their half-built houses. Today the number has reached 27,” Yeghiazaryan noted. Since 2007, VivaCell-MTS has contributed AMD 228.3 million for the basic reconstruction or renovation of houses thus improving the life quality of 480 people with social needs in 31 villages of Armenia’s 10 provinces.
