Bradley Cooper has mystery role in "10 Cloverfield Lane"

PanARMENIAN.Net - As more information about "10 Cloverfield Lane" is shared, AceShowbiz learned details about the movie that was kept as a top-secret project. One of the most surprising revelations is that Bradley Cooper has a mystery role in the sci-fi thriller.

When Cinema Blend had a chance to sit down with director Dan Trachtenberg, the site didn't miss a chance to ask him how the Tony Award-nominated actor became involved in the movie. Turns out Trachtenberg managed to cast Cooper thanks in large part to producer J. J. Abrams, whose history with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star dated back to the time he starred on TV series "Alias".

"[Bradley Cooper] and J.J. go way back because he was on 'Alias'," Trachtenberg shared. "And we needed to cast a very small role. And he said, 'I wonder if Bradley would do it.' He reached out and he was really stoked to help us out."

Details of Cooper's character are still kept under wraps.

"10 Cloverfield Lane", which is described as "a blood relative" but not "a literal sequel" to 2008's "Cloverfield" directed by Matt Reeves, follows a young woman who wakes up in the cellar after a severe car accident and fears she has been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr. also star in the movie, which is due out March 11 in the U.S.
