Matthew McConaughey’s "The Dark Tower" release date movedMarch 7, 2016 - 12:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The long wait for "Bad Boys 3" has just got longer. The movie, which was originally set for release in the country on February 17, 2017, now won't arrive until June 2, 2017. The shift prompted Sony to give new dates to two of its other films, "The Dark Tower" and "Barbie", AceShowbiz reports. The former, which will begin its production in seven weeks in South Africa with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey among its cast members, now fills the old slot of "Bad Boys 3", getting pushed back from its original January 13, 2017 release date. The big-screen adaptation of the Stephen King novel series will open against Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures' "The Great Wall" and 20th Century Fox's "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure". The latter title, meanwhile, will hit U.S. theaters earlier than scheduled. Initially planned for June 2, 2017, the "Barbie" movie will come on Mother's Day weekend on May 12, 2017, just a week after the release of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2". "Bad Boys 3" is due out more than a decade after its predecessor. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reunite in the upcoming Joe Carnahan-helmed film, which is opening against Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler's comedy, "The House".
