Candidates round five: Levon Aronian draws with Fabiano Caruana

PanARMENIAN.Net - Levon Aronian of Armenia drew a game against Fabiano Caruana of the United States in Round 5 of Chess Candidates Tournament 2016.

All Round 5 games ended in draws, with Karjakin topping the list with 3.5 points coming from two victories and three draws thus far.

Aronian remains the nearest contender to Karjakin on 3 points while Caruana, Viswanathan Anand (India), Anish Giri (the Netherlands) and Peter Svidler (Russia) are tied third on 2.5 points each.

Nine rounds still remain in the marathon to decide the next challenger for world champion Magnus Carlsen.
