Cas Anvar joins Guillermo del Toro horror series “The Strain”March 26, 2016 - 13:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Cas Anvar (The Expanse, Room) is set for a recurring role in FX horror drama series The Strain, Deadline reports. The thriller, from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse, is based on the best-selling The Strain Trilogy by del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Season 3 is shooting in Toronto for premiere this summer. Anvar will play Sanjay Desai, an opportunistic young businessman eager to place himself in a protected position amidst the chaos. Anvar also plays the series regular role of Alex Kamal in Syfy’s The Expanse. He’ll segue to shooting that series’ second season when he finishes work on The Strain. Repped by Van Johnson Company and the House of Representatives, Anvar also appeared as Dr. Mittal in Oscar-nominated Room. Liv Hewson has booked a recurring role Liv Hewson 2opposite Elisabeth Moss on the second season of the Jane Campion- and Gerald Lee-created drama Top of the Lake. Hewson will play Michaela, Mary’s best friend at school. In addition to Moss, Hewson joins Season 2 cast members David Dencik, Alice Englert, Ewen Leslie and Gwendoline Christie. Hewson will next be seen in Before I Fall, the adaptation of the YA novel by Lauren Oliver from Awesomeness Films, and Dramaworld, a 10-episode miniseries slated to debut on Viki.
