Baku will decide how and when to elaborate own security strategy

PanARMENIAN.Net - When launching the elaboration of the National Security Strategy we aimed at parliamentary ratification by passing a Law, RA Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan said when commenting on the ratification to his Spokesman Seyran Shahsuvaryan. "However, the examination of the international experience showed that transformation of the RA National Security Strategy into a legislative act in accordance with the RA law "On Normative Acts" would be a 'strait jacket' for the formation of the civil society and democratization of Armenia. At the same time the experience of such political documents by Presidents in Russia, United States and other countries has justified itself. To be short, my proposal proceeded from the real political calculation of our national security," said the Minister.



International experts, who say that the delay of the Azeri document is conditioned by the incompatibility of the despotic essence of the authorities with democracy and transparency of strategic decisions, may prove right, Sargsyan said. "However, it's Azerbaijan's business how and when to elaborate its main political document," he underscored.
