Some social media users had been previously circulating the news on the top military officer’s death, listing him among the fatalities that the Azerbaijani authorities so diligently hide. Social media users regularly report on Azerbaijani soldiers killed in the course of military clashes with Nagorno Karabakh, revealing their names, family names and other data, thus causing great dissatisfaction in Baku. According to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, however, the Lieutenant-Colonel died “as a result of violation of safety rules,” and not on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Karabakh. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
