Current format of OSCE monitoring in Karabakh not effective: Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The current format of the OSCE monitoring of the Karabakh contact line is not effective, Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister said Thursday, May 12.

“Several hours after the OSCE monitoring, a Karabakh soldier was killed in the Azerbaijani fire,” Davit Tonoyan told the Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Lenk (Germany).

According to the Deputy Minister, establishment of mechanisms for investigating border incidents will help prevent such incidents in the future.

Citing Azeri claims of Armenia’s alleged use of white phosphorus munitions, Tonoyan further stressed the importance of introducing international mechanisms to prevent misinformation.
