Cannes: Til Schweiger’s “Nick - Off Duty” sells to JapanMay 14, 2016 - 17:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sales agent Global Screen has sold all rights for Japan to action thriller “Nick — Off Duty”, starring German star Til Schweiger (“Inglourious Basterds”), to Interfilm, Variety reports. Schweiger stars as tough cop Nick Tschiller, whose wife was killed by the Turkish Mafia. When his teen daughter Lenny runs away to Istanbul to avenge her mother, Nick and his partner Yalcin go after her and find her in the hands of ruthless Russian gangsters. Lenny is abducted to Moscow and winds up in an organ harvesting clinic. Nick has to race against time to save his daughter’s life. Previously announced sales include France (SND/M6), Spain (Avalon), South Korea (Cinema Republic), Middle East (Selim Ramio), Poland (Kino Swiat), German-speaking Belgium (Kino Scala), German-speaking Luxembourg (Utopia), South Africa (Silverbird) and Malaysia (Suraya Filem). Pic is produced by Syrreal Entertainment and Barefoot Films, and is co-produced by Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany. Global Screen will present a 120-minute version of the film in Cannes market.
