U.S. warns Ankara: "We do not wish to see Turkish Army in northern Iraq"March 13, 2007 - 18:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States Department of State warned Turkey that it does not wish to see a military operation conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces in north of Iraq. "We support the territorial integrity of Iraq. We do not want to see a Turkish military operation in north of Iraq," said Tom Casey, Spokesman for the U.S. Department of State, Turkish Radikal reported. Casey further stated that the U.S. was working with both the Turkish and Iraqi administrations to develop cooperation against the terrorist Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) based in northern Iraq.Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
