Pakistan eyes EEU free trade deal despite failure to recognize Armenia![]() June 6, 2016 - 17:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Pakistan hopes to sign an agreement on the establishment of a free trade area with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) within a year, state Minister, Executive Director of the office for trade development under the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, Sheikh Muhammad Munir said. “Our government wants to increase the number of free trade agreements; in particular, we want to sign such a deal with the EEU,” the official said. “It is necessary to begin negotiations, and in a few months or a year we will achieve our goal.” The Union is made up of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Armenia has no relations with Pakistan as such, for the latter is the only country to not recognize Armenia as a state. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
