Yerevan: Pakistan-EEU deal depends on Islamabad’s position on Armenia![]() June 7, 2016 - 17:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and any other country is possible only if all the EEU member states give consent, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry told PanARMENIAN.Net Tuesday, June 7. Pakistan hopes to sign an agreement on the establishment of a free trade area with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) within a year, state Minister, Executive Director of the office for trade development under the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, Sheikh Muhammad Munir said on Monday. Interestingly, Armenia has no relations with Pakistan as such, for the latter is the only country to not recognize Armenia as a state. In response to a question on Armenia's attitude to Pakistan's possible cooperation with the EEU in the future, the Ministry said: “If a free trade deal between the EEU and Pakistan is discussed, Armenia’s stance will be driven by Islamabad’s position on relations with Yerevan and the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.” Read also:Pakistan eyes EEU free trade deal despite failure to recognize Armenia ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
