Armenian parliament may condemn IS genocide against Yazidis in Iraq

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's National Assembly may vote on a draft bill condemning the genocide of the Yazidi people of Iraq by the Islamic State group.

Opposition MPs from Prosperous Armenia party Naira Zohrabyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, as well as Heritage member Tevan Poghosyan have authored the document.

Poghosyan said the initiative aimed to prevent the crime of genocide.

“The matter has to do with Armenian citizens representing ethnic minorities who have the right to raise issues of concern,” Tert.am cited Poghosyan as saying.
