Armenia’s consumer price index down by 1.6%

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s consumer price index dropped by 1.6% in the first five months of 2016 compared to the same period last year, the National Statistical Service said.

In particular, food prices decreased by 4.8% while those for tobacco and alcohol declined by 0.6% in January-May 2016 against the same period in 2015.

Furthermore, prices for clothing and footwear dropped by 0.7%,

On the other hand, prices for rent, fuel and electricity went up, as did those for health care and medicines – by 4.3% and 3.1%, respectively.
