Both 13-part series will premiere later this month on Amazon Prime Video in Britain. Amazon previously announced that it will stream the shows in the U.S. “Four year ago, CBS created a new genre of event summer programming with buzzy, serialized shows that have scored a lot attention in both the U.S. and around the world," said Armando Nunez, president & CEO, CBS Global Distribution Group. “American Gothic and BrainDead are the newest additions and will bring more uniquely entertaining, high-concept stories to Amazon Prime members in the U.K.” BrainDead, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, is a comic-thriller in the world of Washington, D.C. politics that follows a young Capitol Hill staffer who discovers that bugs are eating the brains of Congress members and Hill staffers.The show premiered in the U.S. on Monday, and Amazon Prime Video will start streaming it there on Friday. American Gothic centers on a prominent Boston family reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst is linked to an infamous string of murders. "As shocking secrets from the past and present are revealed, their mounting suspicion and paranoia that one of them is a killer threatens to tear the family apart," according to a plot description.
