U.S. State Department admitted its mistake in report on Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Armenia has already addressed a statement to the U.S. Department of State to express discontent with the wordings used in the annual country report on human rights in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh," RA Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian told a news conference in IA Regnum's press center today. The State Department has admitted that it made a mistake when calling Nagorno Karabakh a territory "occupied by Armenia", according to him. "It's late to correct the document now, but the U.S. promised to issue an explanatory statement or change the text of the report posted at the web site. Actually, such reports are organized by one official whose opinion is partial and doesn't reflect the U.S. foreign policy," the Minister said adding he sees no connection between the report and the taboo on import of Jermuk Armenian mineral water in the United States.
