Posted on Alien Anthology's Twitter on Tuesday, June 21, the photo offers a first look at Danny McBride, who is given a mission briefing by director Ridley Scott, AceShowbiz said. The image which was taken on the Australia set doesn't reveal anything significant about the movie plot. However, judging from the actor's wardrobe, it looks like he will be a member of the crew of the colony ship Covenant. Also starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett and Callie Hernandez, the movie is coming to U.S. theaters on August 4, 2017. Noomi Rapace has been reported to return to the film, reprising her role as Elizabeth Shaw. "Alien: Covenant", set ten years after "Prometheus", will follow a colony ship bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. The crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
