Azerbaijan buys SandCat armored vehicles from Israel

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has acquired 4×4 SandCat armored vehicles from Israel's Plasan company, Azeri Defence reports.

The vehicles were unveiled at a presentation ceremony before President Ilham Aliyev on Saturday, June 25.

Photos taken at the event show that Armed Forces of Azerbaijan purchased 4 different versions of the vehicles, including ones with remote controlled and surveillance electric optic system.

The vehicles are equipped with Mini Samson remote weapon stations (RWS) with 12,7 mm NSVT machine gun, produced by Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Other vehicles are equipped with new Samson MLS RWS with two Spike-LR antitank missiles, also by Rafael.

Samson MLS is integrated with an optic system and a laser distance measurer which can be used in any weather conditions.
