Armenia President sends condolences letter to Turkey over Istanbul attack![]() June 29, 2016 - 18:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday, June 29 sent a letter of condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the gun and bomb attack on Istanbul’s Ataturk international airport. The attack killed dozens of people and injured hundreds more. Three attackers opened fire near an entry point to the terminal late on Tuesday, and blew themselves up after police fired at them, officials say. Preliminary data suggest no Armenians were among those killed at the airport. In his letter, Sargsyan condemned the terrorist act, expressing condolences to the families of the victims. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
