  U.S. criticizes Turkey for strategic partnership with IranApril 7, 2007 - 16:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States expressed its concern and objection regarding Turkey's plans to establish a strategic alliance with Iran in the field of energy Turkish Daily News reported citing a diplomatic source from U.S. Embassy in Ankara. "We're watching the situation with concern," said a U.S. diplomat who wished not to mention his name. Turkey and Iran have agreed to build a long-term cooperation in the energy sector, namely drilling oil and natural gas and transferring Iranian oil and gas to Europe. According to the newspaper, this new step by is considered as vitally important by Turkey in order for it to become a global player in the energy market.
