FM: Armenian authorities to thank for solving police siege situation![]() August 2, 2016 - 16:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, currently on official visit to Tbilisi, met Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. At the meeting, the PM extended his condolences to the Armenian diplomat over the casualties resulting from the Yerevan police station siege and welcomed the steps taken to deescalate the situation. Nalbandian thanked the Georgian official for his support, noting that the issue has been resolved thanks to the balanced and patient approach of the Armenian authorities. The officials further dwelled on various issues on the Armenia-Georgia cooperation agenda, including the implementation of agreements as well as collaboration in the sectors of trade, economy, transportation, culture and tourism. They also exchanged views on preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Georgia and strengthening of ties in the framework of international organizations. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
