13 killed in northern French town bar fire

PanARMENIAN.Net - A fire in a bar in the northern French town of Rouen killed 13 people and injured another six, the interior ministry said in a statement on Saturday, August 6, according to Reuters.

The ministry said the cause of the fire, which broke out in a bar sometime overnight, was being investigated. Local media reported the fire was accidentally started by candles lit for a birthday cake during a private party.

Rouen this week held the funeral of an elderly priest who was knifed at a church altar in a nearby town in an Islamist attack.
