Envoy: Ankara can start Karabakh settlement dialogue with Moscow

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey, through normalization of relations with Russia, can start a dialogue with Moscow to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Coskun said, according to Azernews.

Earlier, Turkish envoy to Russia Umir Yardiam noted that Turkey is keeping contact with both parties to the Karabakh conflict to contribute to the settlement of the issue.

On August 11, deputy speaker of Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov stressed the unacceptability of Turkey’s involvement or mediation in the Karabakh conflict settlement talks.

Coskun reminded that Turkey is a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, established to mediate between the parties to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and supports the conflict resolution.

The envoy believes that the resolution of the conflict would benefit not only Azerbaijan, but also Russia and Armenia.

“The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will promote stability in the region,” said the ambassador.
