  EU commissioner: Turkey won’t join bloc until Erdogan leaves power August 30, 2016 - 17:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey is unlikely join the European Union while Recep Tayyip Erdogan remains in power, Germany's EU commissioner, Gunther Oettinger has told German newspaper Bild, according to the EU Observer. Turkish accession would "probably be an issue for the period after Erdogan", he said, adding that accession was "not realistic until well into the next decade."
