Emma Stone-Ryan Gosling musical “La La Land” to open Chicago FestSeptember 14, 2016 - 17:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Chicago International Film Festival will open with the Emma Stone-Ryan Gosling musical “La La Land” on Oct. 13 and close with Amy Adams’ sci-fi thriller “Arrival” on Oct. 27, Variety reports. “La La Land,” directed by Damien Chazelle, premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Aug. 31 and will be released Dec. 2 in the U.S. by Lionsgate. “Arrival,” directed by Denis Villeneuve, premiered on Sept. 1 at Venice. The film is scheduled to be released on Nov. 11 through Paramount. The festival, now in its 52nd year, will also include the North American premiere of “Elis,” the musical biopic about Brazilian singer Elis Regina; a new restoration of 1930’s “King of Jazz,” featuring Bing Crosby; and a special presentation of Fox’s upcoming animated “Trolls” in 3D. The festival is also showing “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” to celebrate its 30th anniversary rerelease at the festival where it first premiered.
