Azerbaijan's GDP down by 3.1% in January-August![]() September 19, 2016 - 14:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan's GDP declined by 3.1 percent in January-August compared to the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said, according to Azerbaijani media outlets. The country's GDP amounted to AZN 38,027,800,000 (around $23,1 billion) in the reporting period. Accordingly, GDP per capita totaled AZN 3,953 (about $2,398). The downturn is caused by 32.3 percent decrease in production of construction products against the same period last year. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
