Armenia beats Georgia, Azerbaijan in WEF's health indexOctober 4, 2016 - 13:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia beat Georgia, Russia and Azerbaijan to rank the 69th in the Health index of the Global Competitiveness Report. Nestled within the massive survey, the World Economic Forum released the sub-index with scores ranging from 1 (extremely poor) to 7 (extremely good). With an overall score of 6.5, however, Armenia lags behind Turkey (58th spot) and Iran (63rd). Residents of Japan, Spain and Italy are the healthiest ones, the report said, while DR Congo, Sierra Leone and Mozambique were listed as extremely inefficient in providing health-related services. Given the infant (children aged 0–12 months) mortality rate per 1,000 live births, Armenia took the 71th spot, right behind Saudi Arabia. In another index, Armenia is placed the 68th with 74.7 years of life expectancy at birth, closely followed by Georgia. The Global Competitiveness Report assesses the competitiveness landscape of 138 economies, providing insight into the drivers of their productivity and prosperity.
