Vibrant village festival seeks to develop Armenia agrotourism

PanARMENIAN.Net - A traditional festival, aptly titled “1000 Years of Village Square” will launch in Armenia on Saturday, October 8, seeking to promote the development of agrotourism in border communities.

Set to be held in the village of Zorakan-Chardakhlu in Tavush province, the event will run through Sunday, Panorama.am reports.

According to one of the organizers, Karine Panosyan, the festival aims to revive rural traditions and interesting arts and crafts which will, in turn, boost the development of ecotourism.

“Typical village life activities, including spinning, harvesting honey, baking bread in ovens (Armenian tonir) will be organized in various corners of the village throughout these two days,” Panosyan said.

According to another of the organizers, Hovhanens Karapetyan, the visitors can participate in all the activities and attend various master classes, afterwards spending the night at villagers’ homes.
