Purported Belgium airstrike leaves six civilians dead near Aleppo

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation said Tuesday, October 18 it had received local reports of an airstrike on the village of Hassajek near Aleppo resulting in the death of six people, while at least four others were wounded, Sputnik reports.

"Air traffic control systems have detected two F-16 [fighter jets] of the Air Force of the Kingdom of Belgium at the specified time and area," the center said in a daily bulletin.

According to the bulletin, Russian or Syrian combat aircraft did not operate in the area at the time of the strike.

Belgian F-16 fighter jets are part of the U.S.-led international coalition fighting against Islamic State terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
