Karabakh: agreement on deployment of peacekeepers in security belt achieved?May 26, 2007 - 14:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - It's premature to speak of full success in the Nagorno Karabakh peaceful process unless agreements on all provisions of the negotiation agenda are achieved, Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told a news conference in Baku after a meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs. "Territorial integrity of Azerbaijan cannot be questioned. Withdrawal of Armenian troops and return of refugees to their homes are discussed at the current stage of the talks," he said. "The sides achieved agreement on deployment of peacekeeping forces in the security zone. There is an opinion that the peacekeeping contingent should not include the states of the region and co-chair states of the OSCE Minsk Group," the Azeri FM said. The most important task is "to exclude resumption of hostilities", according to Mr Mammadyarov. He said he will follow out diplomatic ways of resolution. "It all depends," he added, Day.az reports. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
